British Furniture Manufacturers British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) is a trade association, employers' organisation and member of the European Furniture Manufacturers' Association. BFM has been representing the interests of the furniture industry for more than 60 years. BFM has a broad based membership covering, domestic, contract, office and kitchen manufacturers as well as a number of suppliers to the industry and retailers. In addition to its representational role, BFM offers an extensive membership services portfolio focused on providing 'value for money'. |

Association of Master Upholsterers Soft Furnishers The Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers was founded in 1947, making it one of the oldest associations in the furniture industry. Its membership comprises craft upholsterers, upholstered furniture manufacturers, chair frame manufacturers, soft furnishing retailers and contractors and others associated with the craft of upholstery. (Soft furnishing is traditionally encompassed within the skills range of the traditional upholsterer.) |

IDA Interior Design Association The IDA is the professional body representing Interior Design professionals and practices working principally, but not exclusively in the international commercial interiors market with public and private sector clients. The IDA promotes and protects the interests of members and encourages the highest possible standards of design, service and professional performance. IDA members’ expertise lies in quite distinct market sectors: corporate; hospitality; healthcare; education; retail; museum & exhibition. In essence, anywhere there is space visited or occupied by the public IDA members create the setting and so have a considerable responsibility. The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers The Furniture Makers’ Company is the 83rd Livery Company of the City of London (there are currently 103 in all) and only the sixth formed since the reign of Queen Anne. Livery companies probably had their origins in the United Kingdom before 1066 and are similar to the fraternities and guilds (or mysteries) that flourished throughout Europe for many centuries. |
